I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As both boxers engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really going ahead.
