It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their hitters to hold a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a chance to produce her newest gem.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her debut and seven world titles have come from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Many contend the argument supporting championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was far harder to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this knock was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it was a challenging time because it appeared I've had no rhythm at all," commented Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive nature activate and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and after that the batsman was in motion.

"A chance to go out there and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was removed her side needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the belief to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the last Australia's opponents at this World Cup should hear.

During the last week a feeling they will win from any position has become more firm - this triumph following success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they left last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at an important competition.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing through the pain.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have delayed plans to retire, this World Cup is likely to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as captain.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
